UEFA Champions League 2006-2007
After the NBA Live debacle, I was offered the Technical Director position on the FIFA Gameplay team. They were also working on a rewrite of the gameplay engine, which had just shipped with FIFA 07. Now they wanted to preserve the gameplay engine as an independent package that other titles could use, starting with UEFA Champions League.
I don’t feel that I did a lot for this title, other than the technical processes for maintaining a common gameplay library between two titles. Also, it was the title that introduced “Ultimate Team Mode” to the public, something that would figure large in the future.
